Animals eating pizza are both adorable and hilarious. There’s simply no other way to say it. While we’d seen it a little growing up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles obsession with the stuff, we never thought we’d see it in real life.

But then along came Pizza Rat and we realized that dreams can come true.

But let’s be honest, rats can be an acquired taste. Though we learned to love them a little more thanks to Splinter from TMNT (who may be the culprit of the above pizza slice heist), they can still cause squeals and shrieks just by their mere presence.

That’s why this latest obsessed furry creature might just take the cake when it comes to cuteness. Or rather, takes the slice of pizza. Takes the pizza cake? You know what I mean.

I’m talking about this adorable, chubby-cheeked squirrel who was caught straight-up-chillin’ in a tree while chowing down on a large slice of pizza.

Though Melissa McEwen posted the tweet, it was her friend Andrew Goodman who took the picture while walking through a neighborhood in Chicago. It got picked up by a Chicago news outlet who reported more about why Andrew took the picture.

Real talk, guys: We’re completely fascinated by the mindset of this squirrel. Unlike the anxious and on-the-go pizza rat from New York, this rodent’s pizza-eating style is obviously much more laid back. Not only that, but he somehow defied gravity, using (we assume) pure willpower to carry the pizza slice up a tree to get a perfect, safe resting place to enjoy his feast. And after all that, he completely ignored the people who saw him eating it, not at all threatened that they might want a bite for themselves or self-conscious about his own life choices.

Basically, we’re saying that pizza squirrel could teach us a thing or two about how to make the most out of life.
