Destiny’s Child and Justin Timberlake released new music, Jennifer Lawrence’s First Wives Club reference at the Golden Globes went over a ton of heads and Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban all set sail on their maiden American Idol voyage. It’s no wonder you may have missed a few deliciously noteworthy pieces in between your second and third servings from this week’s pop culture buffet. So without further ado, here’s your latest helping of “The Week In WHAT?!”

Dude, Where’s Your Dog?
One minute you think you’ve found yourself a loving family to play fetch with, and the next you’re told to pack your bones and go. At least that’s what appears to have happened to the rescue dog Florida’s current first family adopted back in 2010. Reporters began asking Governor Rick Scott’s camp about the pup shortly after noticing the publicly beloved canine’s lack of appearances in photos. During the 2010 Republican primary season, Scott’s team asked Facebook fans to name their newest addition. Once the suitably named “Reagan” allegedly began scaring “the living daylights” out of visitors, the family ushered him out the doggy door. No word yet as to whether any other barktestants will be vying for the “top dog” title in the next election.

A Viral Sensation Hits the Super Bowl
No NFL team calls Alabama its home, but the state will certainly be represented come Super Bowl Sunday. Former Miss Alabama turned social media starlet Katherine Webb is cashing in on instant stardom with a plum role as an “Inside Edition” correspondent at the big game. See? Dreams really do come true for girlfriends of BCS championship winning quarterbacks! The cameras will be focused on Webb as she gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at how teams will prepare for the final postseason showdown.

Gold Rush: Germany
Germany is going for the gold through 2020! Despite decades of reportedly free storage in New York for the majority of its gold reserves, the German Federal Bank plans to ship a whopping 300 tons of the “standard” currency back to the motherland. Officials declined to reveal further details of the transaction for security reasons but did mention the bank has prior experience with large financial transfers. Mr. Monopoly (a.k.a. Rich “Uncle” Pennybags) released a statement shortly after the announcement to reaffirm that any bank errors in your favor were purely coincidental.

Blind Love Is a Battlefield
Ever thought of vying for love and affection on The Bachelor or The Bachelorette? Well, now everyone can! Sort of. Okay, not really. However, OKCupid has released a new mobile app called Crazy Blind Date, which allows users to set the time and location for a tête-à-tête and then invite an available suitor who the site’s algorithm has deemed a good match. A solid first impression could set you back $3 as the system charges based on how well you rate your potential mate. Get your digital roses ready!

And there you have this week in “WHAT?!” Can’t wait to see what’s in store for humanity next!
