In case you forgot, Orlando Bloom was big into checkered shirts and tiny ties in 2001
Say hello to Orlando Bloom, heartthrob of yesterday and today.
Before he sailed into our hearts as Will Turner in Pirates of the Caribbean, he was busy running around Middle Earth with his Fellowship in Lord of the Rings. It was his first BIG role, and it shot him right to the top of our mega crush list. He played an elf with pointy ears and a bow and arrow and we were like
Know what Orlando Bloom was swooning for back in 2001? Striped gingham shirts and an odd paisley super-short tie. It was his go-to look at the turn of the century.
For starters, he owned duplicate red and blue gingham shirts.
The paisley tie can be seen ON BOTH OF THEM. Looking at this tie-thing very closely, it looks like it’s a clip-on? CONFIRM OR DENY, BLOOM.
There’s also something written on the shirt.
No idea what it says, so we’ll imagine it says LEGOLAS.
We also need to talk about the ruffles. There is so much going on here. Was there some off-the-hook party in Rivendell we weren’t invited to?
While Bloom only owns this particular shirt in these two colors, back in 2001 he realized that he could actually match his paisley tie-thing to other outfits as well.
It pops up again with another checkered shirt combo and ruffles.
And also a black polkadot shirt.
A decade later, the paisley tie is no more. Bloom has ditched the look, and has once again returned to being the major heartthrob we know and love a ton.
