The year was 1998 and the U.S. was gifted with a British singing group known as S Club 7. Comprised of four girls and three guys, the group ascended to fame thanks to songs like “S Club Party” and their ABC Family series S Club 7 in Miami. Now, S Club 7 is back, but instead of seven singers, there are only three and they go by the name SC3.

The Sun reports that the trio, comprised of original members Jo O’Meara, Tina Barrett, and Bradley McIntosh, will release their first single, titled “Family,” next Friday, December 8. The three remaining members of S Club 7 have actually been doing club appearances as a trio for a while now, but this marks the first time they are set to release new music.

Just two years ago the entire band did a sold-out U.K. tour playing all their ’90s and aughts pop hits, which was when the group originally planned to release new music. However, The Sun reports that band member Paul Cattermole wanted out, and once he left, the other three followed. The new trio is rumored to have changed their name to SC3 so as to not upset their former bandmembers by releasing a song that was once intended for all seven of them.

To jog your memory, here’s the S Club 7 you remember…

…Now meet SC3!

SC3 is planning a tour, but like we said, they’ve been doing their greatest hits onstage for the past year.

Our inner ’90s slash early aughts kid is screaming right now.
