Hold on to your snowballs, Disney just made a big Frozen announcement that you’re probably going to be pretty happy about. A brand new Frozen story titled Frozen Northern Nights: Journey to the Lights is coming! We’re already pumped just hearing about this, and even more exciting it’ll be available in book form and on TV.
Picking up after the events of the Frozen story we know and love, Disney Publishing will be releasing Journey to the Lights in July. Following that, Disney Channel will then air four animated shorts based on the novel. But, they won’t be the delightful Frozen animation we’re used to. Instead, it’ll be LEGO animation!
For the Disney Channel show, our favorite characters will be voiced by the original cast!! Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Olaf (Josh Gad), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), and Sven (Frank Welker) will be joined by a brand new Frozen friend, Little Rock. Together they’ll embark on an epic adventure to restore the glimmer of the Northern Lights, all while making us laugh, and knowing this group, probably sing.
“Natural phenomenon meets cultural phenomenon in this all new story,” Andrew Sugerman, Executive Vice President of Disney Publishing Worldwide explained in a press release. “We’re excited to share this new adventure and offer fans great new ways to connect with their favorite characters thanks to a host of related books, digital games and activities.”
The novel hits shelves on July 5th, and the four animated LEGO shorts will arrive this fall. We already love everything about this, and we want to hold it forever and never…let it go. Also really hoping all of this is a teaser for an official Frozen LEGO movie, because that would be AH-MAZING. Who do we need to email to make this happen?
