After being told she “couldn’t possibly understand” true motherhood because she adopted her children, one woman wrote a powerful Reddit post about parenting to silence the haters.

The woman, who uses the username vietnamazinggg on Reddit, published her response to the rude remark, which quickly earned more than 750 points and 180 comments.

She explained that every mother experiences parenting differently and pointed out how uncool it was to make assumptions about the way someone does or does not feel.

Let it be known: Moms are awesome, and they come in many, many forms. It’s not up to us to decide what being a mom is like for anyone else.
