This is not a drill: Disneyland is holding an open audition call for villains
Calling all villains!
On June 5, aspiring Disney villains will gather for a special open audition call in Dublin, Ireland. Park officials are looking for people to fill the roles of 101 Dalmatians’ Cruella de Vil, Sleeping Beauty’s Maleficent, Beauty and the Beast’s Gaston, and The Princess and the Frog’s Dr. Facilier.

Disney is offering 10 contracts beginning in August and ending on November 5, 2017. The jobs will be at Disneyland Paris, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. All villainous hopefuls must speak English or French and be 18 years or older.

A press release by Disney said, “We are looking for highly energetic women and men to play the following roles and to participate in our meet and greets.”
The roles and desired heights for each character are as follows:
- Cruella de Vil: height between 5’7” and 5’9” (170-175cm)
- Maleficent: height between 5’9” and 6’1” (175-185cm)
- Gaston: height between 6’0” and 6’3” (183-191cm)
- Dr. Facilier: height between 5’11” and 6’5” (180-196cm)

Whether you have a curious obsession with fur or were inspired by Luke Evans’ performance in the latest Beauty and the Beast adaptation, you have less than two weeks to head over to Ireland. The open audition starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 5 at Dance Ireland in Dublin. Successful candidates should be available to try out until 6 p.m. Disney also asks that prospective characters wear comfortable clothing for a “movement/dance combination” and arrive at the audition sans makeup.
