For a whole new group of college freshmen, the first month or so of college is wrapping up. They’ve been on campus for a while, gotten into a routine with classes, obviously not been to any parties at all because they’ve been busy studying. But the real question isn’t what pizza place near campus they like best or what class is proving to be a challenge. The biggest question for college freshmen is, “Have you called your mom yet?”

Apparently Liam McCarney, who attends college in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, has not called his mom enough since moving to campus. His mom, Ann Pinto McCarney, posted a video to Facebook calling him out big time for going a whole three weeks without a phone call. Someone’s in trouble.

“Do you remember me? I’m your mommy!” she says, before hilariously reminding him of all the hardship she went through to bring him into this world.

“When you’re in your dorm at night, do you wonder who fed you for the first 18 years of your life?” McCarney asked.

And just in case there was another reason he wasn’t calling, she gives him an on-point phone tutorial. Since, you know, maybe all that learning has made him forget the basics.

Her video plea has been shared over 30,000 times on Facebook, so there’s no question her son’s gotten the memo. But Liam can’t be too surprised by his mom’s reaction.

“I did a lot of videos with my son when we were on a college road trip, and they were pretty funny, because he wanted no parts of the videos,” McCarney told NBC10. “As soon as I gave birth and got stretch marks, I figured I had a right to torture him as much as I want.”

Come on, Liam! Time to call your mom.
