Did you know that “compliment” is derived from the Latin word “complere,” which means “to complete”? With this in mind, today — National Compliment Day — is the day for you to feel complete with positive energy as you tell the rest of the world what it is you admire about them.

It’s important for us to celebrate days like these so we can combat any negativity we may be seeing or experiencing on a day-to-day basis. Compliments can not only put you in a good mood (receiving or giving — it’s a thing!), but they can also completely transform someone’s bad day — and maybe even their bad week.

Words have power, and in this case we couldn’t agree more. So why not take that power and use it?

It’s also been discovered that giving compliments generates stronger bonds with co-workers, and helps to create better relationships. That’s why compliments stick with us, and we’re able to remember them later on.

Hope you swim by next week, and show the people around you some love in the meantime.
