Lululemon just accidentally started a Twitter feud with Beyonce's fans and we're concerned for us all
Beyoncé vs. Lululemon? Both of these brands (yes, in our minds, Beyoncé is a brand, in addition to being an artist and all-around awesome human) have crazy loyal fan bases, so we’re really worried about how this one is going to play out.
Here’s what happened: News of Beyoncé’s new athleisure brand, Ivy Park, dropped last week — a collection of sweatshirts, leggings, sports bras, tanks, and more activewear. You can see the ad starring Beyoncé for Ivy Park below.
On Thursday, someone Tweeted at Lululemon, asking if Ivy Park is supposed to be similar.
Lululemon responded with a Tweet that has since been deleted, saying “Imitation is the highest form of flattery. Maybe Beyonce is so Crazy in Love with our brand she made her own.” Then the BeyHive dusted off their (possibly Ivy Park branded) boxing gloves and the Twitter feud began.
The BeyHive reacted swiftly.
But Lululemon insists they meant “no harm.”
They also keep responding to the BeyHive’s comments, showing that they aren’t going down without a fight.
If you’ll excuse us, we’re going to hide around a rock now. We don’t wanna be around if these two decide to rumble!
