Brilliant author, Girls mastermind, and all-around awesome human Lena Dunham is officially entering the newsletter world. Along with Girls showrunner Jenni Konner, Dunham is launching Lenny: An email newsletter about “feminism, style, health, politics, friendship and everything else. . . where there’s no such thing as too much information,” according to its website.

The weekly email will be for “an army of like-minded intellectually curious women and the people who love them, who want to bring change but also want to know, like, where to buy the best tube top for summer that isn’t going to cost your entire paycheck,” Dunham tells BuzzfeedBoth Dunham and Konner are quick to claim that Lenny is not meant to be the “anti-Goop (Gwyneth Paltrow’s weekly e-newsletter). On the contrary, they love both Goop and Gwyneth very much — but have hopes that the newsletter will appeal to a slightly younger (and broker) group of women.

“We want people who have totally diverse interests,” Dunham told Buzzfeed. “People who want to talk about radical politics but also want to talk about fashion and also want to talk about Rihanna, and also understand that all of those things can be happening at the same time.”


Along with Dunham and Konner, who announced their new project on Instagram this morning, Lenny‘s staff will also consist of an amazing editorial team, including former Jezebel writer and Slate editor Jessica Grose as editor-in-chief; Laia Garcia as associate editor; and Doreen St. Félix as editor-at-large. The project will be self-funded to start, with plans to “solicit paid contributions from outside writers,” according to The CutThe newsletter will launch this fall, which gives you plenty of time to clean out your inbox to prepare for its arrival.
