Kirsten Storms, aka Zenon, just explained why she has to go on hiatus from "General Hospital"
Kirsten Storms, everyone’s favorite Girl of the 21st Century, took to Twitter this Memorial Day weekend to announce that she plans to take a brief hiatus from General Hospital to focus on her health.
The former star of Zenon: Girl of the 21st Century (arguably the best in the Disney Channel Original Movie canon) told her Twitter followers that she was experiencing stress-induced breakouts and needed time to recover. We’ve definitely been there, and respect her decision to be honest with her fans.
The announcement confirms the report from Daytime Confidential that she will take a break from the show, which she’s starred on since 2005. E! News reported that Molly Burnett of Days of Our Lives will step in while Storms is away.
“Tweeters! First, thank you for the outpouring of love & support. I appreciate all the positive message I’ve received,” she shared in a note on Twitter. “Second, yes I am taking a little break from work due to some skin issues I’ve been having.”
She added: “My dr’s say my breakouts are due to stress, but shouldn’t take too long to get under control. (I can say that I’m on the better end of it now) However, it was becoming too difficult for GH to cover up. And we all know in this biz appearance is important.”
Get well soon, Kirsten! In honor of her brave decision, hopefully you were able to catch Zenon on Disney’s epic four-day marathon of Disney Channel Original Movies.
But don’t fret if you missed it, Disney will continue playing to movies throughout the month June in the lead up the premiere of a remake of Adventures in Babysitting.
