Hold the phone: Justin Timberlake wants to be a part of the "It's Gonna be May" meme
May is almost upon us, and that means it’s the return of the annual “It’s Gonna Be May” memes — whether we like it or not.
You remember the memes, right? A bleach blonde, curly-haired Justin Timberlake announcing that “It’s Gonna Be May.” Of course, it’s a clever reference to NSYNC’s hit “It’s Gonna Be Me.” Or at least it was clever when it started years ago (and about 5,607,574 memes ago).
Timberlake is one step ahead of everyone, and just in time (Justin time…) to make fun of himself and the meme his song created. Because on Sunday, it’s literally gonna be May. He went ahead and tweeted the joke so NO ONE ELSE HAS TO!
To answer his question… yes. You can definitely meme yourself, because the word “meme” is made up of the word “me”… twice. So basically it wouldn’t make sense not to meme yourself.
