Jennifer Lawrence’s personal trainer just explained why she’s the perfect body confidence role model
It’s no secret that Jennifer Lawrence has a killer bod. Between X-Men: First Class and The Hunger Games, she’s shown off her athletic build time and time again. But J-Law will be the first to tell you it doesn’t just happen overnight. She puts in a lot of time and effort to stay fit, mostly with personal trainer Dalton Wong.
Wong has been working with Jennifer for years. They started when she was 20, and have been close ever since. According to Daily Mail, they trained 12 hours a day for three months for Jen’s role as Mystique. 12 hours a day? Wow, no wonder she looks so fantastic!
But Jennifer does more than just look the part. She’s become a role model, inspiring confidence and body positivity for young girls everywhere. And one of those girls is Wong’s daughter.
“Eating disorders are my number one fear for my daughter,” Wong told The Times. “So I explain that Auntie Jennifer works really hard but she eats really well and she loves to exercise.”
The actress echoed their successful partnership.
“Dalton is different to other trainers because he understands what my body needs to look its best—how to exercise, when to allow time to unwind, how to enjoy food,” Jennifer told YOU Magazine.
The last part is key to J-Law. You know how she’s crafted the image of the cool girl next door who loves chowing down on cheeseburgers? That’s because she eats reasonably, but doesn’t deny herself.
“I could never live on a ‘diet’ and instead Dalton has taught me how to eat, move and live a delicious but healthy life,” she continued. “I will always thank him for that.”
