Something bizarre has just happened at Starbucks and it’s hard to take your eyes off of it. A customer by the name of Anne was blessed with a coffee alter ego when “Anne” very clearly showed up as “Julia” on the inside of her Starbucks cup.
So weird. A bit creepy, too. Starbucks sells four billion cups a year, but nothing like this has ever been seen before. Not surprisingly either, because this name stunt is essentially impossible. Then again, I guess nothing is impossible when the Starbucks fairies are messing with our heads. I mean, this will go down in the Starbucks history books, right?
This isn’t the first time our eyes have been fooled at Starbucks. Last year there was a coffee cup that caused a heated argument. Did it say Corey or Greg?
Not as trippy as the Anne/Julia thing, but still enough to be dubbed a Starbucks optical illusion. Also, this past holiday season, there were some cookies that made us take a double look.
As funny as it was, not everyone was stoked about the look of those sugary polar bears. The Internet loves a good optical illusion (ahem, the blue/gold dress). Will we ever know if it was Corey or Greg? Will we ever know how the Anne/Julia trick even happened?! Keep the mysteries coming, Starbucks.
