This blogger believes that the only person who can decide if you should wear a crop top is you, and we think that’s incredible.

Maui Bigalow, a blogger for The Curvy Fashionista who goes by the alias Phat Girl Fresh, recently took issue with the fact that, despite the strides the plus-size fashion industry has made recently, there’s still a bit of body-shaming nonsense being spoken out there. So she shared some inspiring words.

“At a size 24, with quite a few rolls and giggly parts; I can honestly say, I wear what I want,” Phat Girl Fresh writes. “Because this is my body and I love every inch of it and because I love it; I dress it accordingly.”

She also offers “Tips To Slaying In A Crop Top Even Though You Have A Big Belly,” which you can read on the full post.

This isn’t the first time that the body-positive blogger has taken issue with the crop-tops-on-plus-size-women topic: Previously, she’s posted about how she was annoyed when an editor of O Magazine wrote that women should wear crop tops “if (and only if!) you have a flat stomach.” In response, she provided some crop top styling techniques for women of all comfort levels — the type of editorial she thought the mag should have included.

Phat Girl Fresh raises some noteworthy points in her recent post, saying that “despite the considerable growth of the plus-size community, there is still this sort of ignorance, projection, and shaming present.” We love that she’s doing something about it, one killer crop top at a time.
