Holiday Apps! Eat, Shop And Be Merry

Here are three holiday apps for recipes, wishlists and gaming to carry you into 2014!

Food Network in the Kitchen is one of the highest rated recipe Apps in the App Store, and a “Hall of Fame App”!  You can browse through your favorite Food Network Chef’s profiles and find a ton of holiday recipes. Some even have “how-to” videos (which I definitely need).

You can search by ingredients and chefs, save favorite recipes to your recipe box, add notes/substitutions and create personal shopping lists.

The app is free and socially enabled, so share your favorite recipes with your friends on Facebook!

Wanna create holiday gift wish lists or share your latest, greatest deal? The new app, Mashalot, aims to do exactly that.

Free to download, this Apple exclusive has earned early adopters to their new social shopping network, including the Kardashians and actress Bella Thorne.

Praised highly by OK Magazine, Mashalot’s social functionality powers friends, family and colleagues gift lists, which lets you know where they’re shopping and what they have their eye on.  Mashalot wants to arm consumers with up-to-the-minute deals, perfect for mapping out shopping strategies and even tackling those last-minute gift purchases.

Think of Mashalot like a categorically specialized Pinterest which allows you to take photos while you’re out shopping.  As an internet shopper myself, my only suggestion would be to add internet clipping and linking functionality (as well as police a few of the users and celebrities who have been posting about topics which have nothing to do about shopping.)

Join Mashalot for free and start sharing your holiday wish lists!

Chillingo brings us yet another magical experience with Icycle: On Thin Ice.  You play as Dennis, our naked hero, in an icy, post-apocalyptic platforming adventure.

The game is beautiful, addictive, imaginative, challenging – all with a sense of humor.  One of which is unlocking clothing for Dennis as you glide along this mad and compelling little world.  Only .99 on the App Store, it’s a great stocking stuffer or last-minute gift the gamer in your family.

Sound off in the comments or shout at me on twitter @michelemorrow about which apps you’re currently playing!  Happy Holidays!
