Cats might dominate the internet, but when it comes to heroic acts, it’s usually dogs who get all the credit. But there’s one Swiss kitty that wanted to prove that her species had what it took to be strong. Reddit user sc4s2cg was hiking down a mountain in Gimmelwald, Switzerland, when he got a bit lost. Lo and behold, one brave cat helped guide the way.

“I happened on this little kitty as I was exploring some of the places near my hostel. He was just wandering around, found me while I was resting from a hike. Then he was walking and kept looking at me to follow, led me straight to the path that would take me back down to the valley,” Sc4s2cg said.

Sc4s2cg also made sure to share an adorable video of this heroic cat.

One thing’s for sure throughout the thread: the original poster isn’t totally sure of the sex of the cat, and refers to her as both throughout the post. (Makes sense, as that’s not totally a top priority… especially when it’s not your cat.)

“As soon as I got up she started guiding me along some path,” he said. “At the end of the video is where we separated.”

Weirdly enough, Sc4s2cg isn’t the only person on Reddit who has met up with this cat. Many people have chimed in, saying that they hiked the same trail and met the same helpful kitty. In one or two cases, the cat wasn’t completely identical to the one Sc4s2cg met, but could very well be in the same family. Reddit user StarSpace1, however, definitely met the same cat — no doubt about it.

Looks like this cat definitely has her signature pose down.

For those who decide to visit Gimmelwald, you might want to stop and visit this very notorious, very well loved tour guide cat!
