Here's what Disneyland will look like when Star Wars Land opens
As of today, Star Wars Land construction is officially a GO at Disneyland. The park has begun closing attractions to make way for the brand new addition, mostly around the Frontierland and Rivers of America area — so hope you squeezed in one last ride on the Disneyland Railroad. Though it’s sad to see many things go, Disney has now shared the first glimpse of what it’ll look like when everything is up and running again, including the Railroad. One word: wow.
A newly released image on the Disney Parks Blog shows a beautiful artist rendition of the Rivers of America, along with a tiny corner of Tom Sawyer’s Island and the Mark Twain Riverboat; or, the north part of the park. But it’s what’s behind that we really want to focus on. The Disneyland Railroad, which has been in the park since opening day 1955, is getting a total makeover and it looks gorgeous. Haven’t you always wanted elevated trestle to really heighten your trip around the park?
It also looks like the park is adding some rushing waterfalls, coming from a wooded area behind the railroad. Though the image shows it’s a forest, this is actually the future location of Star Wars Land. Unfortunately, we don’t have any sort of peek at this new destination just yet, but it’s easy to imagine the speeders and ships that will one day be nestled back there, Frontierland adjacent.
If you want a bigger look at it, head over to the Disney Parks Blog. This picture is honestly pretty enough to hang on your wall.
