Is your letter from Hogwarts at last on the way? Well, if you live in Quebec, it might be! A traffic camera in the snowy region caught some amazing footage of a beautiful snowy owl who looks just a bit familiar.

In footage captured Sunday morning, the Harry Potter-esque bird was captured flying across the screen,  seeming to swoop toward the camera. Quebec’s minister for Transportation, Robert Poeti, first shared still images on Facebook taken from the initial footage.

The FB translation of the post reads: “An impressive solo was captured in full flight on the morning of 3 January, by the surveillance cameras of the road network on highway 40, at the height of the boulevard des sources in the west of the island of Montreal.

The pictures caused an immediate reaction across social media, with users charmed by the appearance of the mysterious bird associated so closely with The Boy Who Lived.

For anyone who hasn’t thought of Harry Potter in a bit, Hedwig was the faithful snowy owl purchased as a companion by Harry in the first book of the series. The owl was a constant pal and useful pet for Harry, thanks to his ability to deliver mail. Tragically, in the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Hedwig was killed as Harry escaped an attack from Death Eaters. In Canada, however, the snowy owl rarely faces death by Avada Kedavra. Instead, National Geographic says the large bird breeds in the Arctic, and while some stay near their breeding ground permanently, others, like the one caught on video, migrate through Canada and the United States. Unless they’re hired by wizards to act as letter carriers, of course.
