The world can often seem full of unrealistic standards of beauty, so it’s nice to get a reminder about how utterly important it is to love and respect the bodies we were given. On Instagram, a model shared her journey of starving herself to loving her body, and we’re cheering.

When Liza Golden-Bhojwani was at the height of her modeling career, she was dangerously thin — as is the case (unfortunately) with many models — and describes a punishing cycle of self-doubt.

Golden-Bhojwani said she recently stumbled upon old pictures of herself, and felt inspired to compare them to her current body — in which she embraces her curves and her new confident mindset.

In the caption, Golden-Bhojwani talks about going from counting her low-calorie meals, which sometimes consisted of “20 pieces of steamed edamame” to binge eating in order to make up for all the food she was deprived of, to eventually finding a happy medium.

Dropping some wisdom, Golden-Bhojwani reminds everyone that we are all “imperfectly perfect” and that we should not conform to something that someone else tells us we should be.

Her entire Insta account is full of inspiring pics and messages, so make sure to bookmark it when you need a pick-me-up.

Thanks for sharing this intimate part of yourself, Liza!
