Actor and screenwriter Sylvester Stallone is no pilates aficionado, and he’s not afraid to say it. The Rocky star joined his daughter Sophia for a fitness class recently, and saw that the strengthening workout is not as easy as it sounds.

Pilates focuses in on physical strength, flexibility, and posture. It’s also known to help mental awareness. Not to mention, the practice is the number one choice for dancers looking to up their training intensity.

We’ll never understand why men assume Pilates is an “easier” exercise, and Sylvester Stallone just helped us prove our point.

Stallone, 70, is known for portraying macho-esque characters in his action films. And he has had years of boxing training for the Rocky Balboa saga. It’s nice to see such a strong athlete appreciate the “brutal” workout Pilates’ gyms have to offer.

Stallone’s daughter Sophia knows a thing or two about the importance of maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle. The 20-year-old underwent a major heart surgery in 2012, and lost her half-brother to heart complications the same year.

It’s nice to see Stallone and Sophia keeping each other active! Might we suggest a bit of yoga for their next fitness outing?
