Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes, which also means everyone’s bodies process foods and nutrients in different ways (holla, peanut allergy people). This can also in turn affect how we feel about what we eat, and in a recent interview with Khloé Kardashian for Health magazine, Khloé opened up about her relationship with food.
Discussing this super relatable issue, Kardashian said that she initially turned to food as a coping mechanism during her stressful divorce from Lamar Odom, because she needed an “outlet.”
And we totally get that, been there a thousand times. However, Khloé then said she started going to the gym as a way to just get away from it all, and it eventually replaced food for her as the thing that made her feel better. She even began going to a nutritionist.
While this was all totally positive, her nutritionist (who also worked with her sister Kim) provided her with a comparison that, well, just kinda sucked to hear. The nutritionist told her that Kim can basically eat anything and not see a visible difference on the outside.
But these days she tries to take comments like these with a grain of salt, as she’s come a seriously long way with her own body transformation. She even admits that her weight isn’t the concern anymore — instead, it’s all about her health.
To that, we say a giant YES. Way to be body positive, girl! Comparing ourselves to other people is never usually helpful, and so it’s always best to focus on you, and doing you in the best way.
