Remember when you were a wee little one and your mother told you to eat your broccoli because “it’s good for you?” Well, she definitely wasn’t wrong!

Except in this case, rather than eating it, wearing broccoli on your skin will do WONDERS to it. According to Sarah Villafranco, MD, founder and CEO of skin-care brand Osmia Organics, broccoli seed oil is high in vitamins and is a “miracle worker” for skin.

“Broccoli seed oil is a cold-pressed oil from Brassica oleracea italica [AKA a super-fancy scientific classification for broccoli] that is very high in omega-9 fatty acid, vitamin A, and arachidonic acid (omega-6). The omega-9 fatty acid is very nourishing without leaving a greasy feeling. Vitamin A helps encourage cell turnover and diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while arachidonic acid can help strengthen the lipid barrier of the epidermis, resulting in less water loss from the skin.”

Broccoli seed oil also hydrates your skin, can protect the skin from UV rays, and also has calming and soothing properties, making it the *perfect* addition to your skincare routine.

You can find broccoli seed oil at any health store, or order it online from places like Osmia Organics if there isn’t a store close to you.
