So, we know who's headlining Coachella 2016
For those of you are headed to Coachella this year, hold on to your hats because we know who is headlining — and it’s going to blow your minds. Despite the fact that just a few years ago, the relationship between Axl Rose and the rest of Guns N’ Roses was so bad that Rose chose to not come to their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, they all seem to have changed their tune and are slated to open for Coachella. On top of that? They’re also rumored to be planning a huge stadium tour.
For those of you who don’t know, Guns N’ Roses are a pretty huge deal, with their debut album Appetite for Destruction selling 18 million copies, making it the highest selling debut album of a band ever. The album also spent five weeks at Number one on the Billboard Top 100 Chart.
But, like many extremely successful bands before them, Guns N’ Roses broke up, and in a pretty bitter and (seemingly) permanent way. They’ve gone through a few different combinations, mixing up their lineup as members left the group. The original lineup last performed together in 1993. It has yet to be announced who will be involved in the reunion, but founding members Axl, Slash, and Duff McKagan are all confirmed to be involved, with sources reporting to Consequence of Sound that Matt Sorum will be on the drums.
Stay tuned for the full Coachella lineup (including a reunited LCD Soundsystem) announcement in January!
