Miley Cyrus posted the most kooky tribute to Hannah Montana on the show's anniversary
It’s been a whopping 10 years (!!!) since the very first episode of Hannah Montana graced our television screens, and in those years, a lot has changed. Miley Cyrus is certainly no longer the Disney tween we all knew back then, and she’s undergone a ton of personal growth and transformations, but the character Hannah Montana still means a lot to her. That’s exactly why she took to Instagram to share a tribute to the character in her own wacky way.
Miley posted a screenshot of a text conversation to Instagram in which she texted a picture of herself in a long, blonde wig, saying, “How insane. . . 10 years later still laying around in a blonde wig.”
In the caption, she wrote, “Sending love to all my cast members on this anniversary . . . To the world it’s a celebration of 10 years but for us the journey began way before the world had any clue who the f*ck any of us are.”
She then reminisced about the “very long” auditioning process, explaining that the chemistry was what “really. . . sold the show to the producers and channel.”
She added that none of us “have any clue” what went on for the cast over the years, but it was “like the real world but more hormonal teenagers.” “Our love for each other was unquestionable. . . Even though I feel disconnected to who I was at that time I will always feel eternally grateful for the opportunity and platform I was given,” she wrote.
She also added that “none of it would have been possible” without the whole team behind the series. “I am where I am because of loyal fans that I am thankful for and of course love dearly all the new angels who support me now,” she wrote. “Even though HM is chopped up into little tiny pieces and buried in my backyard she will always hold a very special place in my heart!”
She added that she hopes her fans celebrate with her by “get[ting] really drunk and remember[ing]” Hannah Montana, challenging them to take a shot every time someone says her name.
Oh, Miley. You’re a firecracker. We’ll certainly be remembering the fabulousness of Hannah Montana today, but we don’t think we’ll be partaking in said drinking game — maybe in a marathon HM binge?
