It’s no secret that we all collectively obsessed for months over whether Jon Snow would really be dead in Season 6 of Game of Thrones — and if you’re all caught up on the latest episode, you know the answer. [If you haven’t at least seen through the second episode of this season, “Home,” turn back now because there are spoilers ahead.]

Remember when we said everyone was obsessed with that GoT cliffhanger for months? Well, it turns out that even policemen were dying to know about Jon Snow’s fate, just like the rest of us.

Kit Harington recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and now that the news is out, Jimmy wanted to know how Kit managed to keep the huge secret about Jon Snow’s fate under wraps.

Kit says that David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the writers of the show, told him that he couldn’t tell anyone the pivotal plot point, not even his family or friends. But Kit admits that he did tell a few trusted individuals: his mom, dad and girlfriend (that’s Rose Leslie, who played his love interest Ygritte on the show!), for instance.

But there’s one stranger who did get Kit to spill the beans: A policeman that pulled Kit over for speeding.

“Look there’s two ways we can do this,” Kit recalls the police officer saying. “You can either follow me back to the police station now and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you live in the next series of Game of Thrones.”

Kit gave in and told the cop, of course, because speeding tickets are the worse.

“On your way, Lord Commander,” the policeman said. “Keep your speed down this far south of the wall.”

Now the only question is: Can Jon Snow live with the guilt of breaking his promise? Watch the hilarious clip here:
