This is the meaning behind Starbucks's second red cup of the season
Today, November 28th, Starbucks released its second holiday cup of the season. The company debuted an updated version of its classic red cup that features a white heart framed by two hands coming together. With this new red Starbucks cup, the company hopes to inspire their customers to “Give Good.”
Customers who write in the name of someone who “fills their heart” and “embodies goodness” in the blank space can share their dedication on social media using the hashtag #GiveGood.
The company has partnered with several organizations and celebrities as part of their 2017 “Give Good” campaign. The company will be giving away $25,000 grants to 27 winning charities of the Upstanders Challenge. Starbucks will also be joining forces with Spotify to donate $1 million to the charities of Chance the Rapper, Lady Gaga, and Metallica.
On World AIDS Day, December 1st, the company’s customers can get involved in the fight against AIDS. For each Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, or Eggnog Latte sold, Starbucks will donate .25 cents of each purchase to the Global Fund.
Starbucks’s latest red holiday cup and their “Give Good” campaign remind us what the holiday season is all about — being with our loved ones and giving back. Now go give some good, coffee-lovers!
