Starbucks' new drink is perfect for spring break
What better way to welcome in the warm weather than head to Starbucks for a cold, refreshing drink that will help you beat the heat? We’ve got good news for you coffee lovers. Starbucks has a new cold brew drink that will blow your mind and make you forget that winter was ever a thing. It’s called the Toasted Coconut Cold Brew, and it’s the closest we’ll get to sipping straight from a coconut on a beach at a tropical island.
This special drink from Starbucks is inspired by jalao, a coconut and honey candy that hails from the Dominican Republic.
If you’ve never heard of or tasted jalao before, it’s a simple, chewy treat that’s made from coconut, dark honey, and a touch of ginger. It’s something we imagine the characters of Junot Díaz’s novels would love to snack on during the hot summer.
But we digress. Here is a picture of Starbucks’s newest drink, the Toasted Coconut Cold Brew, for your viewing pleasure.
It’s not a complicated recipe. A Starbucks barista will combine Nariño 70 Cold Brew with toasted coconut syrup, which is a brand new addition to Starbucks, and then top it off with a touch of coconut milk, giving it that creamy texture and the marbled look that makes our heads swirl with coconut dreams.
We can’t think of anything better to order at the counter when it’s hot AF outside. Starbucks has been utterly killing it with their cold brew drinks lately.
So next time you’re feeling stressed at work, head over to the corner Starbucks. This Toasted Coconut Cold Brew will transport you straight to your next vacation.
