Starbucks Japan has boozy Frappuccinos, but it's not what you think
Breaking news! Starbucks Japan is now selling alcoholic Frappuccinos and we’re over here in America just being super jelly. (Tbh, we’ve already discovered tossing some booze into your frap on the down-low, but that’s neither here nor there).
The boozy Frap debuts tomorrow in Japan’s first ever stand alone Starbucks Evening store FOR ONE DAY ONLY. This nighttime Starbucks will also serve regular alcohol and small plates, which we apparently have after 4pm in 70 stateside Starbucks already.
But here’s the part where it gets tricky. It’s WINE based and it’s not actually a Frappuccino at all. It sounds more like a Sangria. They are calling it a “Wine Fraggio” and it’s made of Hokkaido blueberry wine and ice. It will cost you $8 which is significantly cheaper than most craft cocktails in LA, so at least there’s that.
Now that we’re thinking of it, a boozy Frappuccino sounds good, we’re thinking Bailey’s Irish cream in a mocha Frap. Or Jameson in a caramel frap. Or a white chocolate white Russian. This “Wine Fraggio” they are rolling out sounds like pink wine and crushed ice. Actually, that sounds awesome. Strike the first three paragraphs from the record!
When is this coming to the USA because we wouldn’t mind pairing this icy pink drink with some boozy brunch.
