Even if you don’t actually make these recipes, you can still appreciate the beauty in a glorious, delicious sandwich. Sandwiches can and should be celebrated in many ways.

Peanut butter and jelly is a childhood favorite, but when you grill the bread and add slices of bacon and apple, like in this recipe from Rhubarbarians, it takes an otherwise ho-hum sandwich to a new level.

2BBQ pork burgers with slaw

Burgers are sandwiches, too! And this one from Epicurious with its crunchy cabbage slaw and creamy dressing hits all the right flavor notes.

3Fig, blue cheese and prosciutto croissant sandwich

Figs are not a typical sandwich ingredient, but that’s what makes this recipe from Cooking With Janica so special. The sweetness of the fruit perfectly balances the saltiness of the prosciutto.

4Spicy falafel and roasted veggie naan-wich

If you love falafel like we do, you’ll appreciate Pinch of Yum’s spicy “naan-wich” recipe made with yummy roasted veggies on top of garlic naan bread.

6Cuban grilled cheese

7Philly cheesesteak sandwich

You don’t need to trek to Philadelphia to enjoy a cheesesteak. Make one in your own kitchen with this recipe from Carlsbad Cravings and name your version after your own hometown.

8Vegetarian tempeh reuben

You won’t believe this recipe from Traveling Fork, with its flavorful thick slices of maple-mustard tempeh piled inside of rye bread, is totally meatless.

9French dip sandwich

Why go to a diner for a French dip sandwich when you can make one yourself at home? All you need is some quality roast beef and these instructions from Aspiring Small Town Girl.

10Vietnamese pork bahn mi sandwich
