That’s it folks — civilization is officially falling. A London restaurant called Firedog has banned avocado from their establishment, and it’s a bit unsettling. The eatery claims that the healthy fat is “overdone.” We beg to differ, but the least we can do is hear them out…right?

We’re well aware that this is Firedog’s way of setting itself apart from others, and it’s pretty genius. The ban places a new challenge on the restaurant: make your food oh so irresistible that customers leave, saying “avocado-who?”

But there’s a pretty compelling reason behind the anti-avocado stance.

Head Chef George Notley explained to The Independent just why the Aegean-inspired restaurant decided pull avocado from its go-to ingredients, and it makes a whole lot of sense.

It sounds like a plan!

Okay, you will never get avocados away from us, but we totally think what the London restaurant’s doing is pretty cool. After all, paying $9 for avocado toast is painful. And NOTHING is worse than a restaurant accidentally giving you an underripe avo on your salad. ICK.

I guess it can’t hurt us to up our brunch game. And the search for new and fun ingredients always leads to great things. All in all, we’re totally for Firedog going their own way on this. But let’s make one thing clear.

They will pry our guacamole out of our cold, dead hands.
