Hillary Clinton just clarified her stance on the pumpkin spice latte
Breaking news in the political sphere, folks, so listen up: Hillary Clinton just informed us all how she feels about the pumpkin spice latte. Does she partake in the delicious autumnal drink that dominates Starbucks menus all throughout the fall months? WE MUST KNOW.
During a Facebook Q&A yesterday, the presidential candidate answered questions about essential national issues ranging from sexual assault on college campuses to Medicaid to student loan debt. But the question that really caught Twitter’s attention was asked by Facebook user Claire Celsi from West Des Moines, Iowa. “Hillary – are you a pumpkin spice latte kind of gal?” Claire asked. And the world went silent as we waited for Hillary’s answer with bated breath.
Then, the answer came. “Ha!” she wrote back. “The true answer is I used to be until I saw how many calories are in them.”
Say it ain’t so, Hillary! Dissing the PSL the day before National Coffee Day? Heresy. But hey, gotta give her props for her seriously legit willpower. If I get a whiff of a pumpkin spice latte, I am NOT thinking about calories — I’m thinking about getting it into my belly immediately. Obviously, though, people on the Internet had some feelings about this presidential realization:
FYI, if you get a pumpkin spice latte with 2% milk and whipped cream, it’s about 300 calories, according to the Starbucks site. But if Hillary wanted to indulge while keep her calorie count lower, she could use nonfat milk with no whipped cream for 200. There’s your fun fact for National Coffee Day, Hillary. Go treat yourself to a PSL.
