When you think about the most metal foods out there, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Shepherd’s pie, right? Okay, maybe not, but this very unique recipe is making us rethink this humble casserole completely.
Linzey Rae, aka a total genius, teamed up with The Ghost Inside to create this kind of scary and totally intense guide to making the most delicious of comfort foods. If you’re, like Linzey, hungry enough to “eat a can of cheese,” then this is the recipe for you.
Shot in a tiny kitchen with a curious cat, the video features captioned instructions, just in case the screaming doesn’t make clear that you have to strain the meat once it cooks and butter the baking dish.
If you’ve never enjoyed the delightful experience of eating a shepherd’s pie, here are the basics: ground beef, carrots, onions, and peas are cooked in a pan with some tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, and butter to make a tasty filling. Once it’s in the casserole dish, you top it with mashed potatoes and cheese, then bake until the top is golden.
As someone who makes shepherd’s pie on the regular, I can assure you that you haven’t known the joys of winter food until you’ve had a perfectly baked pie. And following Linzey’s hardcore instructions, you’ll have one in no time!
