Devil Deviled Eggs
1 dozen eggs
Red food coloring
3 tbsp sour cream
3 tbsp mayo
1 tbsp hot sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/4 tsp salt
1 bell pepper
Fill a pot with a dozen eggs and enough water to cover up to 1 inch over the eggs.
Bring the pot to a boil, then cover and remove from heat, letting sit 10 minutes.
Drain the water and soak the eggs in ice bath to chill.
Once cold, lightly crack eggs until small cracks form (not too big or the coloring will bleed).
Place the cracked eggs in a plastic bag and cover with a few drops of food coloring.
Close the top of the bag and roll the eggs around in the food coloring until the shells are completely covered.
Let sit for 10 minutes, then wash with vinegar to help color set.
Carefully peel the shells from each egg.
Cut the eggs in half and scoop out yolks, transferring the yolk to a large mixing bowl.
Mash with a fork or potato masher until smooth.
Add the rest of the ingredients and more food coloring to the bowl, then stir until combined.
Pipe the mixture back into the hollows left by the yolks.
Cut small triangles from a bell pepper and place as horns into the yolk mixture.
Once cooled, sprinkle with paprika and serve.
