Burger King

If you’re a fan of fast food (and let’s be honest: Who isn’t?), you’ve likely noticed that many of our favorite fast food chains are experimenting with new twists on old favorites. Not one to bypass an opportunity to treat customers to a new experience, Burger King just announced that they’re officially releasing a Whopper Burrito. That’s right: No more do you need to choose between a burrito and a burger. According to Delish, the Whopper Burrito will be available nation-wide on August 15th.

If you’re a lover of the original Whopper, you’ll recognize many of the same ingredients in their Tex-Mex version, including  flame-grilled beef patties, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and pickles. Instead of a bun, however, these ingredients will come wrapped in a flour tortilla, and the beef comes seasoned with a special spice blend to give you a Tex-Mex kick. The Whopper Burrito also offers a creamy queso sauce in place of the mayonnaise you get on the Whopper burger.

I’ll be honest: I’ve never once walked into a Burger King and wished I could order a burrito, but I have to give them credit in that this item has all the makings of an awesome hybrid food sensation. After all, this is the company that just gave us Mac ‘n Cheetos. At this point, we should come to expect a unique twist on our favorite comfort foods. According to Eater, the “Whopperito” is available for $2.99 and will be available for “three to four months.” And hey, at the very least, the Whopper Burrito is sure to get you plenty of Instagram likes when you satisfy your late-night Tex-Mex cravings!
