Attention everyone! There’s no better time than now to break your New Year’s resolutions! Why? Because ICE CREAM!
Ben & Jerry’s released three new flavors TODAY, and we can’t WAIT to try them (sorry I keep all-capsing, I’m just really excitable when it comes to ice cream). The new flavors have been added to their “Cookie Core Lineup,” which originally launched in February of last year, and included flavors Hazed and Confused, That’s My Jam, Peanut Butter Fudge and Salted Caramel. The new flavors are making their way into our lives one month early, as February is typically the release month of new ice cream flavors for Ben & Jerry’s.
John Henry Siedlecki, senior brand manager at Ben & Jerry’s, told Business Week, “The heart of ice cream season beats roughly from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but retailers reset their freezers in the start of the year so they can be fully stocked and consumers will be familiar with the new flavors by the time weather warms up.”
Good lookin’ out, ice cream retailers.
Since I haven’t technically tried the new flavors yet (in my mind I have, though), I’m going to give you a breakdown of all three flavors straight from the Ben & Jerry’s website:
Boom Chocolatta — Mocha and caramel ice cream with chocolate cookies, fudge flakes and a chocolate cookie core.
“As you slam dunk your spoon through creamy mocha & caramel to celebrate the epic chocolate cookie-spread core, your technique may not be perfect, but the victory’s perfectly delicious.”
YES. Yes, yes, yes, yes. Yes.
Peanut Buttah — Peanut butter ice cream with crunchy peanut butter sugar bits, peanut butter cookies and a peanut butter cookie core.
“For p.b. fans & cookie spread-heads who want it all, here’s a flavor that delivers it, from the creamy to the crunchy to the peanutty core of crushed-cookie stuff that spreads like buttah (and tastes even bettah).”
That’s a lot of peanut butter, but I’m not mad about it.
Spectacular Speculoos — Dark caramel and vanilla ice cream with speculoos cookies and a speculoos cookie butter core.
“To feed your fascination for that spectacular crushed-cookie spread with the funny-looking name, you could tease into the cinnamony-spiced speculoos cookies first, or spoon-dive directly into the cookified core of speculoos cookie butter.”
I’m automatically signed up for any type of anything with an explanation that has the word “cookies” in it four times.
We realize it’s frigid in much of the United States right now, but these flavors are definitely worth the shivers, you guys.
