I’ll never forget the first time I tried avocado. I was in 6th grade and was at TGIFridays with my best friend and her mom. She ordered guacamole. I had never seen it before and was quite intrigued by how disgusting it looked. To my dismay, the taste was very similar to the look; I was disgusted. But four years ago, something miraculous happened and my tastebuds changed! I tried avocado again and fell in love. Now I rarely go a day without having this superfood.

Avocados are a nutritional powerhouse. They are extremely high in healthy oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that helps increase fat metabolism. They are also rich in the powerful carotenoid anti-oxidants lutein and zeaxanthin as well as vitamin E (tocopherol). To get your avocado benefits in, check out these 9 interesting uses for avocados. Let me know if you have tried any of them and what you think!
