Everybody and their mother loves Humans of New York, photographer Brandon Stanton’s brilliant collection of brief, but meaningful glimpses into the lives New York City residents. While similar projects have since popped up in other cities, one of the reasons HONY works spectacularly is because NYC is a hotbed for colorful real-life characters with amazing stories. However, the city is also a hotbed for colorful fictional characters with amazing stories, and now someone has finally put two and two together.

Presenting: Fictional Humans of New York. Put together by some Photoshop-savvy folks at CollegeHumor, some of NYC’s greatest pop culture residents get “snapped” by HONY. The accuracy of some of these is almost too much — the well-composed shots and brief but revealing soundbites could pass for real HONY posts were it not for the iconic characters in the photos. The full rundown is at CH, but we’ve posted some of our faves here:
