This promposal at Everett High School in Lansing, Michigan, is giving us ALL the feels.

Everett High senior Vee Nguyen asked her 16-year-old friend, Ben Davis, to be her prom date in front of the whole school at a pep rally last Friday. The heartwarming video has since gone viral.

At the rally, students brought a huge box over to Ben with the message “I’ll ask you to prom when pigs fly” written on it. When they opened the box, four pink balloons decorated to look like pigs floated out—can you even handle the cuteness overload?

Then, Ben is wheeled around to face a row of girls wearing shirts that spell out “PROM?” At the end of the line is Vee, wearing a shirt with a metallic heart on it (A heart of gold! We love it!). When she goes to give him a hug, he hands her a red rose. Meanwhile, the whole auditorium is going wild, making this one of the sweetest videos we’ve ever seen.

Ben has Pantothenate Kinase-Associated Neurodegeneration (PKAN), a condition caused by mutations in the PANK2 gene. He and Vee became friends during Ben’s freshman orientation in 2014, as Vee was volunteering with the school’s program to assist students with special needs.

“I started talking to Ben and seeing him every day,” Vee told the Detroit Free Press. “I would eat lunch with him, and we would have short conversations since it’s hard for him to speak.”

Vee hopes that her promposal will spread a positive message beyond Everett High: “Appearance will eventually get old, but personality is what [makes] a person beautiful. And if everyone could look past the physical appearance every time they meet someone, this world would be a better place.”

We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. Have a blast at prom, Vee and Ben!
