Here’s a video of dog meets robot, dog freaks out at robot, and then dog can’t EVEN with this robot. As we would, too, coming face-to-face with the most lifelike machine ever.

Boston Dynamics, an engineering and robotics design company, recently took their robotic dog— appropriately named Spot—out for a test run. They also brought a real dog out, Alex, whose human is former Android co-founder Andy Rubin.

It starts off all fun and games between Alex and Spot. And then Alex realizes that this robot could one day take over the world (maybe, you never know) and has to BARK AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE AT IT. It’s actually super adorable, as Alex runs, pounces, crouches, and continues to doggy yap at the nuts and bolts.

Also, stop for a second and think about the fact that this robot dog is super lifelike. No wonder Alex jumps into, as the crowd comments, “battle mode.” The robot was actually designed for military use, but it’s clearly not being used for military purposes right now. All the more time for doggie playdates, clearly!
