Single dad teaches other dads how to fix daughters' hair, is our hero
If you’ve ever fought with your hair, know you are not alone. Straight, curly, wavy, coarse, no two heads of hair are the same, and maybe after YEARS of trying to get it tame in just the right way, it still surprises you from day to day.
Now think about being a single dad with a little girl and having no idea what to do with her hair every single day of the week. That’s the problem that Philippe Morgese found himself in, but he wasn’t going to let his his daughter Emma’s hair get the best of him.
Talking to BuzzFeed, Morgese explained that an early age, he began working with simple clips to keep Emma’s hair back, and then moved on to pigtails. But you can only wear pigtails for so long. He learned braiding, and soon found that other dads (both single and not) were impressed with his hair skills. That’s when he decided to put all his newfound hair knowledge to good use, and asked a local beauty school, International Academy, if he could use some classroom space. Of course the beauty school said yes, because how can you say NO to a dad trying to help other dads??
The class was a huge success, and Morgese has since gone on to create the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory, and I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING. The description of the Facebook page reads, “Trying to inspire dads to get together with their daughters and learn hair care. It’s a great way to bond and create memories that last a lifetime :)”
The reactions to his new hair classes have been nothing but positive, and Morgese explained that “the kudos have made me a better dad. When you hear ‘you are such an awesome dad,’ you start to believe it and let go of the mistakes you make as a parent.”
Well, we’re wholeheartedly in love with everything about this. If you happen to be in the Daytona, Florida area you should most certainly go and check out the Daddy Daughter Hair Factory, and tell them we’re huge fans.
