If there’s two things you can count on to make people smile, it’s these: Heartwarming animal rescue stories and burritos. It’s science.

With that being said, grab a box of tissues and get ready to cry all the happy tears because this is a heartwarming animal rescue story THAT INVOLVES a burrito.

Two officers from the Parlier Police Department in Parlier, CA saved a wee little kitten trapped in a drainage pipe earlier this week by — get this — actually coaxing the little fur baby out with a partially eaten burrito.

A post on their Facebook page reads:

Parlier Officers Jimenez and Corona save a hungry kitten that had been trapped in a drainage pipe, this morning. The Officers teamed up, got a little dirty and coaxed the kitten to safety with a partially eaten burrito. The kitten is safe in the custody of Parlier Animal Control. Officer Corona hopes to adopt the kitten and name it Burrito.

Awww! A kitty named Burrito? We’re thinking “Purrrito” would work just as well!

So glad this little guy got rescued!
