Eggs can be cooked multiple ways: on the stove, in the oven, in the microwave or on the pavement on a really hot day (that one might be an urban legend). But what if you’re fresh out of stoves, ovens, microwaves and pavement? Try a curling wand.

Carly Cardellino, the beauty editor at Cosmopolitan, was curious if she could cook an egg an using a curling wand. So she tried it. And it worked! Which totally makes sense — anything hot enough should be able to cook an egg.

Harry Josh Pro Tools Marcel Iron was used to cook the egg, because it “has a rounded tip, a detachable clamp that turns it into a wand, and two heaters inside so it heats evenly,” according to Cardellino.

The egg cooked immediately, because duh. Those things are hot. But no word on whether or not it tasted like hair spray.

We’re not exactly sure if this is useful or useless information, but we do know one thing for sure — it’s definitely something we’ve never thought of before. And perhaps it’ll be good to have in the back of your mind in case you’re ever faced with an egg emergency. An eggmergency.
