It’s Christmas day, ladies. And while many of us are SUPER excited, there are certainly some stragglers out there who haven’t quite gotten into the merry mood just yet. Whichever camp you fall in, some encouraging Christmas-y words from your favorite celeb-ladies might help you feel in the spirit of things — or even more in the spirit of things. So Merry Christmas! Forget every “bah humbug” you’ve ever heard, get off the couch, and spread some holiday cheer.

And say thanks to these celeb girl crushes for inspiring us, like always.

Tina Fey

“I prefer the retro chic of spending Christmas just like Mary and Joseph did — traveling arduously back to the place of your birth to be counted, with no guarantee of a bed when you get there. You may end up sleeping on an old wicker couch with a dog licking your face while an Ab Rocket infomercial plays in the background. It’s a modern-day manger.”

Zooey Deschanel

“One thing I love about Christmas music is that it has a tradition of warmth.”

Kelly Clarkson

“The thing about Christmas is that it almost doesn’t matter what mood you’re in or what kind of a year you’ve had; it’s a fresh start.”

Kristen Wiig

“There’s something about a Christmas sweater that will always make me laugh.”

Gisele Bundchen

“Christmas and the holidays are the season of giving. It’s a time when people are more kind and open-hearted.”

Carrie Fisher

“I don’t think Christmas is necessarily about things. It’s about being good to one another . . . It’s about kindness.”

Marlo Thomas

“Our many different cultures notwithstanding, there’s something about the holidays that makes the planet communal. Even nations that do not celebrate Christmas can’t help but be caught up in the collective spirit of their neighbors, as twinkling lights dot the landscape and carols fill the air. It’s an inspiring time of the year.”

Oprah Winfrey

“I will never forget when I was about 12, and my mother told my siblings and me that we would not be receiving Christmas gifts because there wasn’t enough money. I remember at the time that I felt sad and thought: ‘What would I say when the other kids asked what I had gotten?’ Just when I started to accept that there would not be a Christmas that year, three nuns showed up at our house with gifts for us. There was a turkey, a fruit basket, and some games, and for me, there was a doll.”

Kristen Bell

On her favorite holiday tradition: “I would say, either cooking on Thanksgiving or being able to open (the gifts in our) stockings with my two sisters the night before Christmas. I was the little (sister) . . . I weighed 30 lbs. my entire life and I was the only one that didn’t make the steps creak. They would send me downstairs and I would have to go . . . with a little pair of scissors and open everything up and go, ‘Okay, Jody got a bicycle,’ and I’d close it back up . . .”
