This cat has been called "too ugly" to be loved, but we couldn't disagree more
Nothing makes us more emotional than abandoned or unwanted animals. So we are crazy happy to see that a Spanish animal sanctuary rescued a kitten, named Romeo, who was deemed “too ugly” to be wanted. (Not only does every animal deserve love, but Romeo is legitimately the most precious creature we have ever seen.)
While his brothers and sisters were all adopted, due to the orange tabby cat’s deformed face, no one apparently wanted him. Thankfully, Laura Llacer of Santuario Compasión Animal stepped in. She adopted this snuggly guy and Romeo now has a home at the Spanish animal sanctuary. (Which means, no, you unfortunately can’t adopt him.)
But how no one could have wanted to adopt Romeo is beyond us. JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE.
Yes, with his deformed eye and distinct nose, Romeo is most definitely a unique-looking cat. But those features only make him more ready to be loved. Once you see his little face, furry belly, and outstretched paws, how could you not want to cuddle with this kitten?
Seriously, the cuteness level has us tearing up.
Because of Santuario Compasión Animal sharing Romeo’s story after adopting him a month ago, he is becoming an Internet sensation. He even bears a resemblance to another cat who has gone viral: Monty, who you can (and MUST — if you know what’s good for your cat-loving soul) follow on Facebook and Instagram.
It’s hard to comprehend people not accepting cats like Romeo or Monty because they look different. And that’s why we’re so grateful to Santuario Compasión Animal for giving Romeo a safe home and raising awareness about this animal welfare issue.
As the sanctuary wrote on their most recent Facebook post about Romeo:
Welp, see you never. Because we’re going to be crying about Romeo’s adorableness and the compassion that this animal sanctuary has shown FOR THE REST OF OUR LIVES.
