Attn: humans — cat cosplay is an adorable thing you didn't know you needed
The internet is a place for info, social connections, recipes and as of this very moment, something you totally need but didn’t know it untill now: cat cosplay. No, not people at Comic Con who dress up like cats, and not extreme fandom of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical — we’re talking fluffy kitty cats dressed up like characters from TV, movies, etc. Cats in costumes! The trend is huge on Tumblr, because this is basically what Tumblr was made for. Under the “cats cosplay” tag, cats are seen as Eleven from Stranger Things, heroine Jyn Erso from Rogue One, and even Doc Brown from Back to the Future (yes, with a big white wig). Come, make your week infinitely better and scroll through some of these colorful and very cooperative cats.
Meow!! We have fallen for these Halloween-confused kitties (whose costumes are totally better than ours, just saying)!
Eleven? Is that you? (Thank you, whoever, for not buzzing this cat’s pretty little head!)
Don’t tell the Empire! The Rebel Alliance has gained an extremely skilled fighter…
Eddie Redmayne’s stunt double in Fantastic Beasts…is definitely ready to pounce in and film those more intense action scenes.
Where we’re going, we don’t need roads (plus, we’re more of the indoor type of cat).
“Yes, but I wish Tina Belcher was a real life feline,” you’ve probably said. So here you go.
Oh, and this? His caption explains: it’s Paw-blo Paw-casso. Duh! And if your cat is not into the whole mini-cloak-and-tiny-dagger-type cosplay, there’s always the almighty mythical and super fur-ocious tri-clops:
…which is just as valid as any other cat cosplay option (and probably more realistic), if your cat’s more into staring insidiously at you from a high shelf in the corner than sitting still for a photoshoot. But to the cats who are into modelling, we wish you a long and illustrious cosplay career. You’d never catch dogs cooperating like this.
