A guy found a quiz in the New York Times that he really wanted to take — Big Wedding or Small: The 36 Questions That Lead to Love. The quiz was actually part of a scientific formula for falling in love: two people ask each other 36 increasingly intimate questions and then gaze into each other’s eyes for a few minutes. It’s based on an actual study that suggests those simple actions could lead to a deep romantic partnership, and last month a Times‘ scribe wrote about her success with the formula—she actually did fall in love after taking this questionnaire.

So back to this guy. He wanted to try this love quiz out for himself. Unfortunately, he needed a partner in crime. So since his wife was out of town, he found an unusual subject to respond to these love-triggering questions: his cat.

The cat’s responses are so perfect and cat-like — it’s as if the two of them are having a completely normal conversation, just in two different languages — English and cat.

The lesson to take away here: love is love, after all.
