7 cape dresses that ruled the Golden Globes last night
It’s official. 2016 is the Year of the Cape. It’s empowering, it’s glam, and we bet it makes twirling really REALLY fun. What makes us so cape-confident? Because a lot of ladies rocked the cape dress at the 2016 Golden Globes.
Each celeb had their own unique way of wearing a cape, depending on the style and cut and color of their dress, and everyone looked stunning. Take a look and prepare to make some major heart-eyes.
Cate Blanchett:
We’re no fashion experts, but Cate Blanchett’s dress looks like blush-pink unicorn hair, and it’s taking our breath away.
Emilia Clarke:
I would not expect anything less epically beautiful from the Queen of Dragons herself (and it’s kinda Morticia Addams-y too? Which we LOVE).
Taraji P. Henson:
Cookie, I mean, Taraji looks regal AF — pretty sure her character on Empire would full-heartedly approve of this dazzling gown.
Jada Pinkett Smith:
The teal! The matching open-toed shoes! The shimmery belt! Oh, Jada Pinkett Smith, we bow down.
Jennifer Lopez:
Mustard yellow is always a ~tricky~ color to pull off, but Jennifer Lopez nails it, accenting it with sparkling heels, diamond necklace, and that deep red lipstick.
Saoirse Ronan:
Saoirse Ronan, you angel human. The only thing missing from this ensemble is a floating halo.
Regina King:
If anyone can pull off a golden-sequin gown with a translucent cape, it’s Regina King. We applaud.
