Long before there was Kim and Kanye, or Beyonce and Jay-Z, or even Bradgelina, there was late ’90s/early 2000s power couple: Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. While Britney and Justin dated, they essentially ruled our collective teenage lives. Their music videos were always to be found on MTV; their beautiful faces always plastered on the covers of Rolling Stone, Seventeen, Teen People, and even J14 (who remembers this?). It was a Britney-Justin world, and we were lucky to be living in it.

And now, we’re being brought back to that unforgettable era thanks to the innovative Monica Rose, stylist to the stars (whose clients include everyone from Kim Kardashian to Mindy Kaling). Rose recently posted an image on her Instagram account featuring her son, Salvador Lukas and daughter, Alaia Rose, dressed as none other than JT and Britney.

Not only were they dressed like pop royalty, but they were invoking the same Spears and Timberlake look they donned for the 2001 American Music Awards. If you’re a little rusty on your early 2000s award shows, that’s okay, because you’ll probably still recognize this denim-heavy look:

Look familiar? Now check these two mini fashionistas out:

How cute are they?

Even more amazing is the fact that Ms. Spears herself re-grammed on of Monica Rose’s images, along with the Britney-approved hashtag #britneyandjustinforever, something I’m sure at least a few of us wrote down on the backs of composition books:

While we appreciate the trip down memory lane, though, I gotta say I for one am happy for their evolution as entertainers —both have made quite the name for themselves. Brit is taking over Vegas with her Piece of Me tour. While Justin Timberlake is guest-starring in at the Country Music Awards and raising a cute baby boy named Silas.

Still, #britneyandjustinforever.
